Set yourself on the path to develop foundation skills in language, literacy and numeracy. This course will provide you with underpinning skills and knowledge to undertake further study.
Fee concessions may apply to this government funded course for eligible students. Learn more
This is the total course fee. Read more about student loans and payment plans.
Break ground and develop skills that will improve all aspects of your life – personal, in the community and at work.
Within Australia, many people do not possess the literacy and numeracy skills needed to participate fully in modern life and work. Facilitated by expert teaching staff who understand that each learner is different, you will be provided with the support and guidance you need to complete your studies.
Throughout your training, you will develop basic skills in learning, reading, writing, speaking and listening, and numeracy and gain confidence to become more involved in the community.
Upon successful completion of this course you will have developed reading, writing, numeracy, oral communication and learning skills at Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) Pre-Level 1.
Statement of Attainment
At TAFE Queensland we believe in providing quality pathways to further education opportunities. We can work with you to develop a personalised learning program to develop your skills in language, literacy and numeracy.
At TAFE Queensland we provide training to people who are under-utilised in the labour market, by building the skills of young people, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with disability, mature-age job seekers, women re-entering the workforce, and people from culturally and linguistically diverse background.
You may be eligible for fee-free training under the Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) program. Through SEE, participants can access free foundation skills training across a variety of courses and qualifications. Eligibility criteria applies. Funding for this qualification is available in select locations. The SEE program is funded by the Australian Government Department of Employment and Workplace Relations. Learn more about SEE funding, eligibility and available courses, and enquire to begin your training.
The successful achievement of this qualification requires you to complete all units listed below.
