Kick start your career in sustainable energy technology and renewable energy management with this entry-level course. Successful completion of this course will put you on the path to an electrotechnology or sustainable energy apprenticeship.
In this course you will discover how to provide basic sustainable energy solutions for energy reduction in residential premises. Learn how to fabricate, assemble, and dismantle electronic components, apply OH&S codes in the workplace, and promote and apply sustainable energy practices and procedures in the energy sector.
Successful completion of this course will give you the basic skills and knowledge required to gain an entry-level position in any electrotechnology or sustainable energy field.

You are responsible for meeting the minimum occupational health and safety requirements for practical classes. This includes the use of safety glasses and protective footwear with safety toe cap and non-slip soles to AS2210. If you fail to meet these minimum standards of dress, you will not be permitted entry into practical classes.
Skill and knowledge assessments are an essential step in progressing through your course. You may be assessed in a number of ways while you are studying at TAFE Queensland, including observation, written assessment, questioning, portfolios, work samples, third-party feedback, and through recognition of prior learning.
