Ramsay Health Care Partnership Program

TAFE Queensland has partnered with Ramsay Health Care, Australia’s largest private hospital operator and one of the top five private hospital operators in the world giving you a unique opportunity to study the Diploma of Nursing (HLT54115).

When you choose to study Nursing through this partnership, you will benefit from a combination of online theoretical study, hands-on practical training and organised vocational placement within the Ramsay Health Care network. Mixed mode study gives you the added flexibility you may need to complete your qualification in your own time, at your own pace. TAFE Queensland students also have free access to the online, after hours support service, Studiosity.  

Course structure

This course is delivered over 18 months and consists of online theoretical study with TAFE Queensland, Residential schools (1 per semester) in state-of-the-art simulated nursing labs and clinical placement within a Ramsay Health Care facility. Upon successful completion of this course, you will be eligible to apply for registration with the AHPRA Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as an Enrolled Nurse.

Vocational placement

Students will gain a minimum of 400 successfully completed hours of clinical placement experience within a Ramsay Health Care facility. Students will leave TAFE Queensland with experience in health-related nursing care in a variety of contexts including medical and surgical, rehabilitation, mental health and aged care.

It is expected that full-time students will need to commit to approximately 30-35 hours per week or the equivalent of 4 days per week to study. Upon successful completion, you will be eligible to apply for registration with the AHPRA Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as an Enrolled Nurse

Industry-standard facilities

Our practical labs for residential schools include electric beds, electrocardiogram (ECG) machines, vital signs monitors, I.V. trolleys and life-like simulator mannequins.
