Certificate IV in training and assessment (TAE40116)

TAFE Queensland is committed to supporting the development of remote communities in Queensland. Thanks to the Queensland Government’s Regional Skills Adjustment Strategy (RSAS) TAFE Queensland is helping to upskill eligible residents of Thursday Island and Northern Peninsula Area to work as a vocational educator and assessor. Students who undertake the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) will learn specialised skills and knowledge to design, develop, deliver, and assess vocational training courses.

From June 2019, TAFE Queensland will be delivering the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) at our Thursday Island and Northern Peninsula Area campuses. This course has been specifically designed for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. The qualification will not only build upon your existing industry qualifications, but will provide you with the necessary skills to transition to employment as an educator with registered training organisations, such as TAFE Queensland.

TAFE Queensland will work with you to develop individual training plans, including opportunities to recognise units from previously attained qualifications and experience in the sector. Training will be conducted through face-to-face workshops and online webinars.

This program is subsidised through the Queensland Government’s Regional Skills Adjustment Strategy. The cost of the program for eligible students is just $100. This is the total cost you will need to pay when you enrol.

All applicants are strongly encouraged to attend one of the information sessions taking place at the TAFE Queensland campus on Thursday Island, where the program will be discussed in more detail. In order to attend one of the information sessions, you must first complete an online application.

Regional Skills Adjustment Strategy (RSAS)

Delivery of the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) on Thursday Island and in Northern Peninsula Area is a project funded through the Regional Skills Adjustment Strategy (RSAS). RSAS is a three-year initiative targeting specific regions of Queensland facing economic uncertainty by supporting workers that are at risk of being displaced from traditional industries, or retrenched as a result of significant company closures. RSAS also provides proactive support to employers in target sectors to build workforce resilience and address skills or labour shortages. RSAS supports those individuals to gain the foundation, employability and technical skills needed to transition to the jobs of the future.
