Course overview

Get equipped with the practical skills to work as an engine reconditioner in the automotive service and repair industry. Whether you are a new employee or existing worker, this course will upgrade your skills to set up and operate machinery for reconditioning vehicle components.

According to the Australian Government's Job Outlook service, demand for qualified mechanics (including engine reconditioners) grew strongly over the past five years with employers finding it hard to fill vacancies. Job openings are expected to remain steady in the near future with around 23,000 job opening expected over the next five years.

In this course you will learn to undertake pre-repair operations such as diagnosis, dismantling engines and evaluating components, conducting test procedures, overhauling engines, and rebuilding and reclaiming engine components. Industry experienced teachers are ready to prepare you for a future in the automotive industry.

Through successful completion of this course you will attain a broad range of knowledge and practical skills to work as an automotive engine reconditioner or continue your studies at a higher level.
