Skills for Education and Employment

If you’re looking for full-time work, and are registered as a job seeker with Centrelink, you may be eligible for the Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) program. Offered through TAFE Queensland, the program will help you practice interviewing for jobs, earn qualifications to stand out in the hiring process, and learn new skills in areas including retail, business, IT, and hospitality.

Benefits of the SEE program
 

Free to attend

The best thing about the SEE program at TAFE Queensland is it won’t cost you anything to attend. As a SEE student, you will have up to 650 hours of free training to prepare for the work force. You’ll set goals and learn valuable skills to give you a head start in the job market.

 

Work experience opportunities

Get a step ahead in the job market with real world experience. We’ve partnered with a range of businesses to offer work experience in fields such as retail, hospitality, and business. By taking part, you’ll have a head-start on your resumè and make important connections in the industry.

 

Train at TAFE Queensland

From workshops to beauty salons, we have some of the best training facilities in the state. Our SEE students can take advantage of over 40 study locations around Queensland. You’ll have face-to-face time with your teachers, make friends in the classroom, and be able to attend student events and access the entire range of student support services.

 

Your pathway to a qualification

If you’re considering getting a trade qualification or diploma, you may be able to get a head start on your training through SEE. As part of your course, you could complete units in a Diploma or Certificate, achieve the basic entry requirements for the Australian Defence Force, or earn your Year 10 Equivalency.
