Allied health refers to the broad range of support positions in the health industry that do not include doctors, dentists or nurses. Allied health professionals work in hospitals, doctor's surgeries, and allied health practices to prevent, diagnose and treat a range of conditions and illnesses. Health care workers are in high demand in Australia with more than 50,000 job openings expected over the next five years.
Study allied health
As an allied health student at TAFE Queensland you'll study in our simulated clinical wards under the supervision of industry-experienced professionals to prepare you for real-world situations . Our wards are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment including anaeasthetic machines, vital signs monitors, ECG machines, IV trolleys, and simulator mannequins.
TAFE Queensland offers entry-level skill sets in allied health including CPR, first aid, medication, and foot care. We also have a comprehensive range of courses from certificate II through to diploma level qualifications in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander primary health care, allied health assistance, anaesthetic technology, health administration, health support and services, optical dispensing, practice management, and remedial massage.
