Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ) funding
If you or your apprentice or trainee work in the building and construction industry (including civil construction) you may be eligible to access funding to help reduce the cost of training to increase your skillset.
TAFE Queensland is a proud recipient of Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ) funding. Funding is applied to training at a range of levels including short courses/individual units of competency, certificate, diploma and advanced diploma.
What is Construction Skills Queensland?
Construction Skills Queensland is an independent, not-for-profit, industry-funded body supporting employers, workers, apprentices, trainees and career seeks in the building and construction industry.
What is funded?
We receive funding from CSQ to provide subsidised training to the building and construction industry. CSQ funding is available for selected short courses, skills assessments and gap training, higher level qualifications and for a select range of programs specific to small businesses. There are a range of different courses and qualifications that attract funding for each program. Short Courses
The short courses program provides funding for a number of competencies and skill sets for existing workers or those unemployed wanting to update their skills and knowledge in specific areas.

Higher Qualifications
The higher qualifications program helps existing workers in the building and construction industry to progress their career or those who are unemployed to gain new skills to get a new start.

This program is designed to support small businesses in the building and construction industry.
Short courses
The short courses program provides funding for a number of competencies and skill sets for existing workers or those unemployed wanting to update their skills and knowledge in specific areas. Current and recently completed apprentices and trainees may also be eligible for this program.

The Skills Assessment and Gap Training (SAGT) program provides a pathway for eligible students with significant industry experience to have their skills recognised and receive the gap training required to achieve a nationally-recognised qualification.

The higher level skills program helps existing workers in the building and construction industry to progress their career or those who are unemployed to gain new skills to get a new start. Certificate IV and higher level vocational training qualifications are available under this program. Current and recently completed apprentices and trainees may also be eligible for this program.

Small Business Program
This program is designed to support small businesses in the building and construction industry. If you’re a building and construction small business owner or an employee of a building and construction small business and involved in the day-to-day running of the business you may be able to access funding for a range of non-accredited short courses. Perfect if you’re looking to learn a new skill in a short amount of time.
