Employment opportunities in refrigeration and air-conditioning maintenance are expected to remain solid with up to 25,000 jobs available over the next five years.
Our teachers are trade qualified with years of experience in the refrigeration and air-conditioning industry. Their knowledge of current industry technologies will ensure you graduate as a competent and confident tradesperson capable of becoming a leader in your field.
We offer introductory certificate II courses through to diploma-level qualifications to set you up for entry-level or management roles in the industry. Our air conditioning and refrigeration courses will also qualify you to apply for your Restricted Electrical Licence and full Refrigerant Handling Licence.

Our refrigeration and air-conditioning training facilities are world-class and renowned in industry. They include an industrial cascade refrigeration system, full operational service bar, ammonia plant rooms, 20 coldrooms, Valuable Air Volume (VAV) systems, and two air-conditioning plant rooms, as well as hydrocarbon and Co2 systems.
High-tech training facilities
TAFE Queensland Ashmore Trade Training Centre has a new $1.5 million state-of-the-art training hub for electrical and air conditioning refrigeration apprentices.
It was designed in collaboration with local industry to be the most high-level training centre on the Gold Coast for electrotechnology and air-conditioning refrigeration.
